Terms of Service
Last updated: April 9, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the IncNumber service ("the Service") operated by Interconnected Software, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"), a Delaware C-Corporation. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Service Description
The Service provides US phone number parking for a monthly subscription fee. The Service includes:
- One US phone number assigned to your account
- SMS forwarding to your registered email address
- Custom voice greeting playback for incoming calls
- Message and call history accessible via web dashboard
The Service is receive-only. Outbound calling and outbound texting are not supported.
1.1 No Emergency Services / No 911 Access
The Service does not support and cannot be used to contact emergency services such as 911 (United States and Canada), 112 (European Union), 999 (United Kingdom), 110/119 (Japan), or any other public-safety answering point or emergency number anywhere in the world. The phone number assigned to your account does not have access to enhanced 911 (E911), basic 911, or any equivalent emergency calling capability. The Service is receive-only and plays a pre-recorded greeting on inbound calls; it cannot place outbound voice calls of any kind.
You acknowledge that you must maintain an alternative means of contacting emergency services (such as a mobile phone with an active wireless carrier service or a traditional landline) and that you must inform all household members, employees, guests, and other persons who may attempt to use any device associated with the Service of the absence of emergency calling capability.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you waive any and all claims against Interconnected Software, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates, and third-party telecom providers arising from or related to the inability to dial 911 or any other emergency number through the Service, including without limitation any claim for death, personal injury, property damage, or any other loss arising from such inability.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding agreement to use the Service. The Service is not available to residents of countries subject to U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions, including Cuba, Iran, North Korea, and Syria.
3. Account Registration
You may create an account using Google or GitHub authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information and promptly update it if it changes. You may not create multiple accounts for the same individual.
4. Subscription and Billing
The Service costs $7 per month (USD), billed monthly via Stripe. Your subscription begins upon successful payment and renews automatically each billing cycle. You may cancel at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal accessible from your account settings.
No refunds are provided for partial billing periods. A full refund may be issued if the Service was not delivered (e.g., no phone number was assigned). Due to the nature of digital services, refunds are not available after service delivery.
Where a refund is owed under this Section, that refund is your sole and exclusive remedy for non-delivery of the Service, and we have no further liability beyond that amount, except to the extent prohibited by applicable law (including for our own gross negligence or willful misconduct).
User responsibility for time-sensitive messages. SMS and voice delivery to a US phone number depend on third-party telecom networks, sender carrier policies, and the SMS-to-email forwarding chain. You acknowledge that messages may be delayed, blocked, or undelivered without fault of either party. For time-sensitive or legally consequential communications (banking verification codes, authentication codes, regulatory notices, etc.), you are responsible for arranging an alternate channel of receipt. The Service is not guaranteed to receive messages from any specific sender or category of sender.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service for:
- Any illegal activity under applicable federal, state, or international law
- Fraud, identity theft, or impersonation
- Sending or facilitating spam or unsolicited communications
- Circumventing sanctions or export controls
- Bulk SMS harvesting, spam absorption, sale or resale of incoming messages, or any use intended primarily to receive large volumes of unsolicited messages
- Any activity that violates the terms of our service providers or Stripe
5.1 Prohibited use as a critical authentication channel. You agree that you will not use the Service as the sole or primary channel for receiving any of the following, and you acknowledge that the Service is not designed, intended, or warranted for such uses:
- Two-factor authentication (2FA) or multi-factor authentication (MFA) codes for banking, brokerage, neobank, payment, money-transfer, or cryptocurrency accounts
- Identity verification codes from government agencies or regulated financial institutions
- Account-recovery codes for any service whose loss of access would cause material financial, legal, or personal harm
- Any communication where non-delivery, delay, or interception would cause material loss to you or a third party
Many third-party services (including banks, neobanks, payment apps, and certain online marketplaces) actively block VoIP-based numbers, and every affordable US phone-number service — including ours — uses VoIP infrastructure. You assume all risk arising from use of the Service for any of the above purposes, and we will not be liable for any loss, damage, or claim resulting from non-delivery, delay, or any other failure in connection with such use. The remedy described in Section 4 (no refund beyond non-delivery of the Service itself) is your sole and exclusive remedy.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice. No refund will be provided for accounts terminated due to violations.
6. Service Availability
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service depends on third-party telecom infrastructure, carrier networks, and email delivery services. We are not liable for delayed, undelivered, or failed messages or calls caused by factors outside our control, including carrier outages, network congestion, or third-party service interruptions.
7. Third-Party Service Compatibility
We provide a real US phone number capable of receiving SMS via standard carrier routing. However, some third-party services (including but not limited to financial institutions, fintech platforms, banking applications, payment services, and certain online marketplaces) may restrict, block, or refuse to send verification codes and messages to VoIP-based numbers at their sole discretion. Such restrictions may change at any time without notice and are entirely outside of our control.
We make no representation, warranty, or guarantee that the phone number provided will be accepted by, or will function with, any specific third-party service. The Service is provided as a US phone number with SMS-to-email forwarding, not as a guaranteed means of accessing any particular third-party platform. Inability to receive messages from a specific third-party service — whether due to VoIP filtering, carrier blocks, number reputation, or any other reason attributable to the third party — does not constitute a failure of the Service and is not grounds for a refund.
8. Phone Number Lifecycle
The US phone number assigned to your account is provisioned through our licensed telecom provider (Telnyx) and remains the property of the underlying telecom carrier. You are granted a limited, non-transferable right to use the number for the duration of your active subscription. The number does not constitute property of yours and is subject to all applicable Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules and carrier policies.
Number change. In rare cases your assigned number may need to be changed due to carrier inventory issues, regulatory reassignment, area code changes, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control. We will give you reasonable advance notice when this occurs.
Number porting (port-in / port-out). The Service does not currently support porting in an existing US phone number from another provider — numbers are newly provisioned at signup. Port-out (transferring your assigned number to another carrier) is similarly not currently supported. If port-out support becomes available, updated terms and fees will be published here.
Payment failure and number suspension. If your monthly payment fails, we will retry the charge over a grace period of up to fourteen (14) days. During the grace period the number remains assigned to your account but SMS-to-email forwarding and dashboard access may be suspended after the first failed charge. If payment is not successfully resolved within fourteen (14) days of the first failure, your subscription is cancelled.
Number release after cancellation. Upon cancellation (whether by you or by us) and any applicable grace period, your phone number is released back to the carrier pool within approximately thirty (30) days, after which it may be reassigned to another customer of any carrier and cannot be recovered. We do not guarantee that you can reclaim the same number if you resubscribe later. If retention of your specific number is important to you, do not allow your subscription to lapse.
SMS history and data after cancellation. Stored SMS history, account metadata, and message content are retained for thirty (30) days after cancellation to allow account reactivation, after which they are deleted, with the exception of records we are required to retain for legal, regulatory, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes (see our Privacy Policy for details, including the section on Legal Process and Government Requests).
We are not liable for any consequences resulting from the release, reassignment, suspension, or change of your number, nor from the deletion of message history, after the events described above.
9. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, and content, is the property of Interconnected Software, Inc. and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service.
10. Limitation of Liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, INTERCONNECTED SOFTWARE, INC. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF BUSINESS, OR INABILITY TO RECEIVE MESSAGES.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE THREE (3) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Interconnected Software, Inc. and its officers, directors, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law.
12. Dispute Resolution
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved within 30 days of written notice, either party may submit the dispute to binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Commercial Arbitration Rules.
The arbitration shall be conducted in English, by a single arbitrator, in Wilmington, Delaware (or remotely, at the arbitrator's discretion). The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
Class action waiver: You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted on an individual basis and not as part of a class, consolidated, or representative action.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must cancel your subscription before the effective date.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Legal Notice, constitute the entire agreement between you and Interconnected Software, Inc. regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements, representations, and understandings.
